澳門新女性當代藝術聯展 「養在深閨人未識」

由澳門文化局資助，澳門新女性發展協會主辦的「澳門新女性當代藝術聯展- 養在深閨人未識」，將於 11 月 9 日下午 3 時於大炮台迴廊隆重開幕。是次藝術聯展 為澳門八位女性藝術家聚首一堂，共同以女性為題材創作的藝術聯展;展覽期間將 有一系列互動活動，包括導賞團及工作坊等，加深觀眾對藝術家們及是次聯展的認 識和理解。

“Yet to Know“Macau New Woman Contemporary Art Exhibition, which is sponsored by Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau and organized by New Woman Development Association of Macao, is going to be launched on 9th November at 3 p.m at Mount Fortress Corridor. This is the exhibition that brings together 8 female artists to create on the subject of “Woman” in Macau. The art works that were created with diversified forms will be presented in a contemporary sense of freedom, uniqueness and innovation. Throughout the exhibition period, there will be different kinds of interactive activities, such as guided tours and workshops, to help the audience understand deeply the philosophy and ideas of the artists.

展覽主題

中國唐代著名詩人白居易的經典作品《長恨歌》中寫到 :「楊家有女初長成，養在深閨人未識」，描寫的是楊貴妃楊玉環在未成為貴妃前，剛剛長成亭亭玉立的少 女，但還是待字閨中，尚不為人所知時的狀態。中國古代女子出嫁前甚少能夠接觸 外界，因此外人難以見其容貌，習其品性;以往古代封建傳統中女性地位低微，有各種阻力令到女性無法向大眾展現自身的美好，此處更深深地表達了那些美好的東西，不被大眾所知的婉惜之情，因此，「養在深閨人未識」在後世常被用來形容那 些還沒被人所知或被發現的新鮮和美好事物。

Exhibition Theme

Bai Juyi, a renowned poet in China’s Tang Dynasty once wrote this in his classic <The Song of Everlasting Sorrow>, “A lass in the Yang family had reached puberty. As she was raised deep in her boudoir, no one knew her beauty”. It described the time that Yang Yu Huan who was later known as Yang GuiFei (The Chinese spelling and pronunciation of high-ranked imperial concubine is “GuiFei”) just grew into a graceful young lady, but not yet known by others since she was required to stay in her boudoir. In ancient China, Chinese women were rarely allowed to approach the outside world, sooutsiders could barely see the appearances and get to know the personalities ofthe Chinese young ladies. In fact, women had a low status in ancient feudaltime, and a variety of restraints had stopped them from showing what they were capable to the public. In this sentence from the poem, it expressed the pity of beautiful things not yet being known. Therefore, the Chinese saying that “As she was raised deep in her boudoir, no one knew her beauty” is often used later to describe the fresh and beautiful things that are not yet known by others. And here, we used “Yet to Know” as our English theme to represent the name philosophy.
