獲獎無數的艾甘．漢，廿一世紀藝壇最矚目的名字之一，糅合印度傳統舞卡達克舞與現代舞，發展自己獨門的舞蹈風格，作品均叫好叫座，創作每每打破界限，合作的藝術家及機構橫跨地域及各藝術範疇─舞蹈界鉅人：林懷民、蕭菲．紀蓮 (Sylvie Guillem)；著名法國影后茱麗葉．庇洛仙 (Juliette Binoche)；流行音樂天后凱利．米洛 (Kylie Minogue)；以及奧斯卡金像獎最佳藝術指導葉錦添等。2012年更獲邀為倫敦奧運開幕禮編舞，全球觀眾評論一致讚賞。

英國出生，孟加拉裔的艾甘．漢，這次亮相澳門舞台，帶來親自上陣、震撼視覺，感動心靈的代表作──《源》。以自己獨舞的身體，遊走於孟加拉與英國之間，將記憶、經歷和神話，巧妙地編織成一個如夢似幻的世界，配上奧斯卡得主葉錦添鬼斧神功的舞台設計，十呎高的扶手椅，滿台絲緞造成的波光水影，可謂畫龍點晴；奧利花獎得主喬斯林．波克叫人聯想無窮的音樂，和天衣無縫的真人與動畫「演出」，獲觀眾與評論激賞，「泰晤士報」評為「最令人讚歎的製作」，更橫掃2012 年英國奧利花獎等多個舞蹈獎項。艾甘．漢自1990年起推出獨舞作品，一鳴驚人，2002年成立自己舞團， 作品備受觀眾與評論讚賞，舞迷橫跨歐、美、中東等五大洲。《源》為2011年「香港世界文化藝術節」的閉幕節目，不僅是探討移民二代自我認同的過程，還直照我們人性深處，感人至深。

DESH: The epic scale of a personal journey
Being the most acclaimed name of the modern dance world on the 21st Century, legendary dancer-choreographer Akram Khan created a distinctive merge between modern dance and Indian classical Kathak. Allied to a striking uniqueness, his ideas beyond boundaries have constantly surprised audiences everywhere. DESH, which translates as “homeland” in Bengali, is the most significant piece by Khan and will take us on a very personal and intense adventure to his parent’s native Bangladesh, through a fascinating blend of movement and spectacular imagery. Praised by The Times as a show filled with “the most extraordinary collaborations”, its star-studded creative team includes Oscar Award winning artist Tim Yip, who conceived a breathtaking set design and video projections and Olivier award winning composer Jocelyn Pook whose inventive music makes the audience fly to impossible realms. This show has won several prestigious honours in the UK and at international level, and was the closing performance of the Hong Kong World Cultures Festival in 2011.
Khan first staged his solo pieces in the 1990s and launched his own company in 2002 to become one of the few contemporary choreographers to have earned audience acclaim in Europe, the US, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. He has collaborated with world prominent artists like Juliette Binoche, Lin Hwai-min and Kylie Minogue, among many others. In 2012 the artist was invited as the choreographer for The Olympics’ opening ceremony in London.
DESH is a stunning surprise for the senses that will touch audiences from every cultural background, exploring identity issues with such honesty and boldness that, more than telling his own memories, Khan is telling everyone’s story.
