Anim’Arte NAM VAN Opening First Week of June

Inaugurated on 3rd June late afternoon, on the eve of the start of the Dragon Boat Races, the new Nam Van Lake waterfront leisure area - named 'Anim'Arte NAM VAN' - combines sporting, cultural and tourism elements, in a joint organization of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Sports Bureau, the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Institute for Tourism Studies, to enable tourists and residents to maximize their leisure time in Macao.

Creative shops, craft market and graffiti display

Shops featured in Macao Cultural and Creative Industries Map display will sell selected cultural and creative products from local cultural and creative entities registered in the Map, such as creative handicrafts, fashion design, publications and more. The Cultural Affairs Bureau is also co-operating with charity groups to set up a shop of their own in the area to sell handmade original products. Graffiti display boards are also in place in front of some shops. In addition, effective 11th June, a Craft Market will be held every Saturday and Sunday, featuring booths run by creative entities from Macao, Hong Kong and Mainland China, in tandem with parallel activities such as handicraft workshops.

Pedal boats

The Sports Bureau will provide recreational pedal boat facilities at 'Anim'Arte NAM VAN' for rental, starting from 4th June. While enjoying the landscape around the lakeside of Nam Van, the public can rent swan-shaped, double-seated pedal boats for a ride on the lake. There are also pedal boats suitable for families or groups of friends of four. The pedal boats can be rented daily from 11:00am to 6:00pm

Performances and activities

Macao Government Tourism Office will present a rich and entertaining programme of weekend cultural performances and activities for the younger ones and grownups. The programme includes Art Fusion - Typical Costumes Parade, 'Eléctrico' puppet show plus Portuguese Fado music and jazz, clowns, walking stilt characters, along with souvenir doll-making, balloon twisting, face painting, and more.
